»NEWCPR/AED for Healthcare Professionals

DESCRIPTION:

This course provides the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adult, children and babies depending on the level of CPT chosen. All include training in the use of an automated external defibrillator.


»NEWCPR/AED for Healthcare Professionals – Re-certification

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to assist Health care and other emergency professionals to refresh their CPR and AED Skills. This includes practicing all the basic life support skills learned in the 4 hour course, including 1 and 2 rescuer CPR & obstructed airway management, child and infant CPR and obstructed airway management.

»NEWTRANSPORATION ENDORSEMENT

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to work in conjunction with the OFA Level 1 course and focuses on recognition of potential spinal injuries and how best to prepare the patient for transportation to medical aid. Candidates will learn techniques for moving patients, as well as spinal immobilization and WorkSafe Regulatory Requirements.

DESCRIPTION:

This one day course is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), also known as sour gas. This course is required for people who work in the field in the oil industry.

DESCRIPTION:

This course has been developed in accordance with the Federal Hazardous Products Act for the training of persons who manufacture, work with or are in 'proximity' to hazardous materials in the workplace.

»NEWTRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS (TDG)

DESCRIPTION:

This half day course is intended for individuals who are involved in the transportation and handling of dangerous goods within industry operations. It is ideal for updating personnel with previous TDG training or as an introductory session for new employees.


OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID LEVEL 1

DESCRIPTION:

Emergency management including: C Spine Control, Obstructed Airways, Artificial Respiration and CPR in Adults, Bleeding, Records and Reports. This course is recognized by each of the WCB/OH&S offices across Canada.


OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID LEVEL 2
LEVEL TWO COURSE

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed for industry that is located in close proximity to hospitals (less than 20 minutes). Skills include: minor wound care, upper limb immobilization techniques, CPR & obstructed airway management, as well as medical conditions and regulatory requirements by WorkSafe BC


OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID LEVEL 3
LEVEL THREE COURSE

DESCRIPTION:

The 70-hour Occupational First Aid Level Three Course provides training to industrial first aid attendants enabling them to alleviate suffering or even save a life. Training will range from scene assessments and soft tissue injuries to administering oxygen and transporting patients with spinal injuries.
